Statement of counseling is a tool used in the military and documenting professional development and training. Several things are necessary for it to be used properly.
Leaders providing counseling statements must be capable. When that leader generates that statement, he must know how to provide feedback. He also needs to know how to help counseled soldiers achieve the discussed goals. This includes spending the time necessary to improve counseled soldiers.
Both the leader and the soldier of the counselor must have a reliable environment. Statement of counseling must be joint effort. Here, both soldiers who consulted with the leader speak things. Please take corrective measures. If this is a professional development counseling statement, both must set goals together.
There are others that apply as well. You can find the details in the latest Army Leadership Field Manual. Other military branches must also refer to this field manual.
What happens now when "toxic leaders" use counseling statements? If there is sufficient "negative" counseling sentences in the soldier 's training folder, that soldier will face a risk. Patterns of sub-standard behavior can get service personnel removed from the army.
There are several common myths the leader advances.
A "poisonous leader" by lack of knowledge or malicious intent makes the lobby so that the soldier "initializes" the "agree" box. But should you do? One common misunderstanding about "agree" or "do not agree" box is that you do not agree or disagree with the initial management data.
Here is another myth. "If you object to add a statement, you will see a chain of orders, such as being rebellious, not being willing to learn, being a bad soldier.
In reality, the "agree" or "do not agree" box means that you agree or disagree with counseling statements. In the comments section, you can provide reasonable and factual logical comments on why the counseling statement is considered wrong or inappropriate.
To support this, lawyers also have the right to add a "Corrective Measures Course" section.
Leaders who are trying to explain may have agenda. This agenda usually does not work for service members who have counseled in the long run.
So, when should not you agree to the counseling statement?
You must see this from a quiet perspective. If you knew that you made the comment legitimate, you did not have a good situation ... the fact is not fake ... your leader will make you better I hope ... ... for other reasons that your leader was found to "agree" to quote negative agenda ... or quotes, "I agree".
A counseling statement is a useful tool to increase your weaknesses. "Event-oriented" counseling statements become "gifts" if you want to learn from experience. If the person managing it is sincere about your happiness. A professional counseling session for improvisation, monthly or quarter, your coaching session is written on paper.
If you receive any of these, you must seriously look at your faults and find ways to overcome them. If you are thinking what your leader can help you, please state it. It is included in the course and the leader section of the action section. Please enter comments explaining how to overcome and improve what is being counseled.
Now let's say there is a possibility that malicious content is included.
You have the right to object. However, do not just initialize the "Do not agree" box. Please add comments to regain your inconsistency. This comment must contain facts and logical / rational arguments about why the counseling statement is considered wrong or unreasonable.
Please do not insult a person who consults you, or personally attack. For example, suppose you consulted because you failed to submit a pass request before preparing to spend the weekend outside travel restrictions. I know the fact that I submitted a pass request. In fact, you handed it to your team leader.
An example of what not to do is as follows.
"I did not agree with this statements of counseling, I handed in my pass, my team leader said that he was approved not on the body he is in the military for this Should not.
Here is an example of how you can read sentences accompanying the "I do not agree" option:
"Two weeks ago, I filed a pass request, a risk assessment form, a flight schedule, a hotel reservation, he said so, I included completing the plan in advance and paying the rest of the reservation PFC Doe showed me about me and I was there when I asked if my pass was approved, see "Corrective Measures Course".
The judicial officer of your unit can provide details of the agreement / disagreement section.
Once again, what I said in this article also applies to other services. Ideally, if you learn happily from mistakes and there are good leaders, this system can work for you. It can even set you up to be truly successful in the army.
If you are having a harmful leader and are trying to set up a paper trail with a simple problem ... to take bad steps on you ... the discrepancy section will be used to neutralize that attempt It's your way.
This article does not give legal advice. Please check with your unit's legal officer, or Judge Advocate General office again. They will explain in detail the rights to deal with "agree" and "disagree" sections to you.
