Many of the old restaurants and accommodations in Victoria and the Royal Victoria Golf Course have a ghost story. Guests at Abigail's hotel often ask for a ghost story and an incredibly comfortable staff wants to convey that. Unfortunately, ghosts are not approaching.
Abigail's Hotel is at the edge of Victoria's downtown, very close to the inner harbor and one of the best secrets of Victoria. so-so! I'm sweeping the cat out of the bag! I lived here for over 20 years and I wondered what it was like before unnecessarily. I was cleanly in the number of old hotels, they were all wonderful, but often disappointed. In the case of Abigail, it is not so.
As soon as we drive past the hotel entrance, we notice the well kept English garden. Between the coach house and the inn, both buildings are very similar. At first glance, they could not be said to have been built 50 years apart. We park and immediately we will have a super friendly front desk staff Thomas. He will guide us to our room and fully inform us about hotels and services. Breakfast at bed is attractive, but we chose breakfast with other guests.
Our room is spacious and all the amenities we want are decorated. Does it have delicious welcome cookie, cozy sofa in front of fireplace, 4 poster beds or marble bathroom with jacuzzi and rainhead shower? Our room is decorated with rich furniture, duvet and pillow, silk bed spread, fancy slow pillow. It is luxurious and very comfortable.
The library of the main building becomes a meeting venue and snacks and free beverages are available from 5 to 7 am. In a short time, we will meet friendly people from Louisiana, Nevada, Ontario, Alberta. Thomas takes care of us.
For dinner we step into downtown and there are only 3 to 4 short blocks. We visit a very popular noodle house to find out what all the fuss is. Well, not what we expected, but unique experience and very tasty food! I did not expect to pamper my wife with my wife and chopsticks, but nothing is good for my queen!
I am sitting on a delicious breakfast in the morning. A large table occupies most of the guests. Upon arrival late we will sit on a table for four and immediately join the young couple in Oregon state. Abigail is designed and operated so that people can easily interact with each other. If you come to private, the spacious rooms have a private hideaway and you can order breakfast in the bed.
After breakfast, Marion Hansen (general manager) will take us to the hotel tour. Each room is unique, but everything has the same special touch as Abigail's unique one. Marketing, administration, housekeeping, all of the staff of the dining are very friendly and helpful. It is difficult to imagine who will stay elsewhere.
How careful they are, especially when Marion taught me how to invite neighbors for Christmas dinner, how much do you care? The owner's philosophy clearly shows the attention and attention of both the design and style of the hotel and the services offered to the guests, with all the staff certainly established.
When you check out, you will be presented with a small gift bag containing two bottles of water, a trip, and a guidebook to other "selected accommodations". Working in tourism really appreciates the business that takes it seriously. This business truly won "five stars".
That's why it's time to go sight seeing now! The choice on the day is to visit Victoria Art Gallery. The art gallery is in the immediate vicinity of Abigail and is in the historic Spencer House in the Rockland District. There is an art exhibition of Tanabe Takao, an artist born in Seal Cove, British Columbia, so I will go there. The artist has won several major awards and is internationally recognized. His art is a vast and beautiful landscape painting that provides unique landscape, sea and sky scenery. The huge size of his paintings presents a vision of awe in Canada, especially the West Coast.
We are exploring by going from the sea to Sydney for lunch. We hit most of the local restaurants, so we are looking for new experiences. My friend told me about the Dakota restaurant in Victoria Flying Club so I checked it! From our table, we can see the runway. So, through lunch, there are taxis of various airplanes quite close.
We heard that breakfast received the award, they find that they serve breakfast all day at the weekend. We choose and enjoy a very good lunch.
After lunch, we will explore Sydney, shop and tour.
On my way home, I remember Abigail's wonderful stay. I am thinking about a ghost story that can be supplemented to ask my heart. In fact, they do not need ghosts. Abigail sells himself!
Abigail's Reflections: Quiet, quiet, comfortable, luxurious but not exaggerated, friendly, conference hall, charming and romantic, very special Victoria's best accommodation!
