Jersey Shore boasts some of the busiest holiday destinations. However, one popular resort, Wildwoods is a really happening place and despite the crowd is worth the trip.

Many of this majestic beach community began in the 1950s with the opening of the Garden State Parkway and the Atlantic City highway. Many of the hotels still adorning the area still reflect the appearance of the 50's: tail wings, big hair, Elvis, and more. It is a little old hotel, but it is still a fun place to check out.

Boardwalk is a two-mile trek through a variety of shops that sell saltwater toffee, T-shirts, accessories, games, vehicles and junk food. If you do not like walking, tram cars will go to any point between the last or between. Soon, you see the recording from the car, what you have to do is set a flag, hop on and tell you that you are going off hook by "sounding tram car" I can hear it.

The beach is free. And it is very wide especially by New Jersey standards. Most people familiar with Jersey Shore know that many beaches are shallow. Sand is periodically and naturally added to the tide water on this sandy beach. It's at least a quarter mile from board walk to surf [in low tide, that is].

Wildwood currently boasts a convention center built on the beach and a new ride projecting from the pier. The historic Cape May, with more than 600 Victorian houses, is just 4 miles south, a great place to visit when you are tired of the boardwalk scene. Atlantic City is an hour north, especially frequent travel destinations on rainy days. In the town of Cape May Court House you can also escape to the county zoo of the day.

The best time to go to Wild Woods is before July and August because the water temperature is too low. Still, most hotels have an outdoor heated pool and may prefer salt water.

Resorts are changing as many old buildings have been dismantled and replaced by condos. Parents are trying to maintain resort themes in their families, so we still know what the future of the resort is. In the meantime, grab a beach towel and a sunscreen and head to the wonderful Wildwood, NJ!
