The visitors of the town are fascinated by its history and layout. The plan of the town shows an attempt to integrate the natural, cultural and social elements of the place.

The town was the idea of Sir Ebenezer Howard. Sir Ebenezer Howard previously worked in Letchworth Garden City. His idea was successful, he decided to bring it to another place. Howard claimed a plan for the town combining rural and urban elements. He believed that there would be benefits from the plan of this type of town. The definition of Garden City is in the record of the Garden City & Town Plan Association.

The design of this city began in 1919. I needed land to make a city in the garden. The ideal place of the city was Hertfordshire. Sir Howard bought land at Hertfordshire. The next year, preparation for building the garden began. A team of experts gathered for the design and construction of the city. The team included architects, secretaries, and architects. The team was essentially a company known as Welwyn Garden City. Lord Theodore was appointed Chairman of the company, Mr. Luis de Soisson was an architect.

The layout of the town is clear. It consists of streets with trees along both sides and a city center similar to the new Georgian architecture. An organization for the protection of the environmental field and management of the town was established. There are grass curbs lining the road to and from the town.

Along the main road you can see places and parks. This area is known as the Parkway. The view from the south side of the parkway is beautiful. The urban area is divided into the east side and the west side. There is a new development on the west side and an old building on the east side.
