Carol Gibson was about to return home to Austin after Christmas holidays. Although she was hanging in the air at the layoving, she was not concentrating on finding a job, but somehow the work found her. Here is her story. It includes crazy weather, Twitter, media, inspirational moments and surprises.

Crazy weather

Carol was visiting his parents for a holiday in a cheerful California home for about three hours outside San Francisco. Crazy weather was actually happening on the east coast. An abnormally harsh and violent snowstorm delayed the flight nationwide. Carol learned that the flight schedule was canceled 8 hours before departure. She called for re-reservation to the airline, but she could not pass. Her only option was to allow 3 hours trekking to the airport in San Francisco to catch the next available flight.

When she got to the airport, she was said to be unable to return home for three days! The only option was to change the airline. The flight of the new airline was not due to depart by the next day, but she took it. She already had to spend valuable money from the cramped budget in the hotel room.

Twitter

Twitter user Carol (@ gibsonic) posted an occasional progress report on the situation and "Tweets" on his mobile phone.

December 27 - "What does it mean that SFO came back to Austin? The airplane may have been canceled.

December 27 - "I am at San Francisco International Airport"

December 28 - "Do over (@ San Francisco International Airport)"

December 28 - "Progress !! (Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport)"

media

So, she was descending for layover at Phoenix on December 28th. And, from blue, she received a tweet from a stranger: "Did you get late? I am a reporter of the AP so this tweet contained a phone number to call.

She answered: "@ AmandaLeeAP yep! I planned to leave the SFO yesterday, but I had to change the plan.

The reporter interviewed Carol by telephone and asked her about the printed matter. After that, Carol was on an airplane from Phoenix to Austin, but she appeared in an article that appeared in St. Louis. Lewis paper, MSNBC.com, Yahoo.com.

When she landed in Austin, she received a second reporter asking permission to record the phone interview. A local talk radio station was listening to Carol many times over and over again and again, again and again, again and again. Her friends began contacting her just because she could not stay aware of all the reports she had received and was at home. She reads something online and listens to her on the radio.

Later, Carol associates the details of her spooky two-day journey, she told me she did not think he said something to notice reporters: "My comments are angry While we were watching it, I was purely inconvenient - I did not miss a wedding or Christmas, little children.

Inspired moment

Clearly, Carole certainly said something special for the media. In retrospect, it was what she came out at the moment inspired. As an AP reporter asked about her occupation, I questioned whether she should say that she is unemployed in her mind. She decided "what happened" and laughed, "I am a business unemployed business analyst." It turned out to be a wise move to bring out her embarrassment during unemployment.

Serendipity

A couple weeks later, Carol received an email from LinkedIn from a representative of a startup company called Helical Plane. "I saw the news on the news.

After two rounds of the interview, Carol was offered the contract work and got the opportunity to become a full-time normal position in the future.

Carroll said, "I accepted it because it is like the first date.

Meanwhile, Carol covers her base. She recently created her own DBA Crossbrook Consulting. "I would like to help with non-profit organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises, start-up companies' events, advertising products etc. I love creative communication, I can call it non-creative marketing. Strengthened my wish working on creative communication such as social media and promoted the cause I believe.

Carol has gained a lot of attention from the experience of Twitter and media during her job hunting:

- I do not know who is listening to you and you.

- Always use positive words about your situation.

- Keep a sense of humor.

- Do not be embarrassed to say you are out of work.

- Please use all the tools with your disposable.

It is watching Carol also learned the value of grabbing the moment!
